Do you have any idea how long it took to upload this?

But video just captures it better than pictures, and I wanted to share...

The lighting is bad... but here they are clapping together.

And yes, after the music lesson, they have a little fight. But Scott did say Sorry and give Blaise a hug. Which is the cutest thing, but I'll probably never catch that on video, because I have to hold Blaise otherwise Scott would probably pick him up and drop him and accidentally hurt him more.

A new favorite toy... they both love to play with this bopper bag and Blaise seems to enjoy it when Scott tries to balance it on his head. Not that we promote that behavior. Don't worry, soon we'll blink and Blaise will be running all over the place- and Scott can't wait for that day.

Walking the Dog

Scott is too cute! This one is pretty self explanatory.

Blaise Has Skills

There... we caught him clapping on camera.

And now Table Football. Blaise has figured out how to let go of things on purpose, so he's really into say, picking up Cheerios and putting them places. Mostly in the cup spot on his tray, dropping them on the floor on purpose, or putting them on the edge of the table. Uncle Mike made a game of it and Cullen said it was his first game of Table Football. I think he won, since he ate the Cheerio in the end.

Jingle Bells

Lots of running Scott... and then, at the end Scott starts copying Blaise. Naturally, it got even more amusing after I turned the camera off, but that's life.

Stuck?

So, do you think he's stuck?

Nope, he did eventually crawl off the side of the box and after some other toy, or maybe after Scott, I don't remember.

If you listen carefully, you can hear Scott talking to himself in another room in addition to Blaise babbling away.

Run Run Scottie Boy

Are you laughing hysterically yet? In case it isn't obvious what's happening at the end, Scott really wants Blaise to get up and run with him. I don't think Blaise would mind, but it's a skill he hasn't mastered yet. By the way, yes, Scott is capable of actually picking Blaise up off the floor. Dangerous. Must supervise 2 year old at all times.

Belly Button

Blaise's umbilical cord stump finally fell off this morning. It hung around way longer than I thought possible. Though it still doesn't look like it's completely healed. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer til he can wear his FuzziBunz and take a real bath. After all, he's pretty much outgrown the newborn ProWraps we've been using and I'd rather not buy ANOTHER pack of Swaddlers.

Nap time is lasting a long time today. Scott should be very pleasant for small group tonight. And of course, it's a nice break in the middle of the day for me too :)

Baby Acne

Blaise has baby acne really bad. It's basically all over his head and on his shoulders and chest as well. Poor kid. Completely harmless of course, but it looks so uncomfortable.

Speaking of uncomfortable, he got a shot at his 1 month check-up on Thursday... he did NOT like it. I know, no one likes shots, but Scott never screamed quite like this. Scott usually tenses on the first shot and doesn't cry or really protest until the second shot. For example, at his 15 month check-up a couple of weeks ago, Scott only had to get one shot and he didn't cry at all. The nurse stuck him, I put him down from the table and he climbed into the stroller content as could be. Now, Blaise, on Thursday, the instant the needle touched his leg he starts kicking, turns bright red and screams like he's dying. It probably took me close to 5 minutes to get him to calm down enough to leave the office. I guess he's going to be like his Daddy, who also hates getting shots. (I can't say I love them, but I really don't care. I give blood and the needle is much bigger for that.)

Anyway... Blaise's 1 month stats are 9lbs 8oz, 21 1/4 inches. I really thought he was longer than that... and maybe he is. Measuring the length of babies is not exactly a precise science.

Mommy's Helper

Scott is so fun... all the time. I love him!

Today I was cleaning the house. Okay, I was just vacuuming, which is a huge accomplishment for one day. Scott loves the vacuum cleaner. That's what makes vacuuming a huge accomplishment. He chases the vacuum, stands in the way, has learned how to turn it on and off, and today started trying to take it from me to push it around. This is going to be a wonderful thing, as long as the fascination hangs on until he's big enough to do the job by himself. Maybe we should invest in a lighter vacuum cleaner.

Yes, Scott makes me laugh at least once everyday. Don't be decieved though, he is still a 16 month old, curious about everything and hard to keep up with, and has strong opinions/desires of his own.

Scott's Sick

Yeah, Scott's sick. He was up all night on Wednesday night... not fun, considering I'm up in the night anyway to feed Blaise. Then he's had a low-grade fever and really gross runny nose since. Here's hoping it goes away quickly! And hoping nobody else catches it.
Blaise seems to be growing up. Spending a bit more awake time during the day. We have fun little chats and play for part of Scott's nap every afternoon... then he goes to sleep too and I can read or get stuff done. He's been adapting a somewhat schedule this week, which I appreciate. Especially the part where he does a little cluster feeding in the 7-9pm time frame and then sleeps for 5 hours. That's nice.
Time to watch Lord of the Rings. We're taking a break from Star Wars for a little while... however long it takes to finish watching LOTR.
